Lay Speaking
When we talk about being a “Lay Speaker” sometimes the “Speaker” part scares people off. While a few might be turned on by the prospect of standing in front of a crowd and talking, most are, to say the least, not so inclined.
Lay Speaker training is about much more than speaking. It’s main goal is to help you become a more confident and articulate leader in the church. Sure, your speaking might be from a pulpit on Sunday morning. But it might also be in a Sunday school class or in a meeting. It might be learning to share the Gospel with your friends. An additional benefit is that through the training you also learn more about the United Methodist Church and how your own congregation is connected to the whole.
